Los Angeles Dodger's Hanley Ramirez could miss up to two months after the infielder hurt his right thumb during the Dominican Republic's game against Puerto Rico in the WBC.

Ramirez suffered the injury after diving to the ground to catch a ground ball as Dominican Republic's defeated Puerto Rico 3-0 to win their first World Baseball Classic championship.

However, with all the goods of the tournament, there comes the bad and Ramirez injury could be serious enough for him to miss 10 weeks of MLB baseball.

According to sources, the Dodgers feared Ramirez's injury could sideline the infielder for quite a while, causing a gaping hole in their roster.

The Dodgers remains guessing the severity of the injury with Ramirez's MRI results set to be released on Thursday.

"They've painted both pictures, and it's a pretty big window," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. "We're guessing. They're going from a guy coming out of a big game, to a guy who also stayed in the game and had a single. Until the MRI, we're guessing."

Ramirez batted .257 with 24 homers and 92 RBIs in his first season with the Dodgers.
