The Tottenham Hotspur are on the cusp of the Champions League spot after securing a tough test at Fulham 3-1 Sunday.

Aaron Lennon's scored his first goal of the season in first-half stoppage time, giving the Spurs a 2-0 lead in the 45th for the eventual game-winner.

The Cottagers tenaciously regrouped in the second, getting into the game in the 57th minute courtesy of Younes Kaboul's own goal.

Fulham labored to find the equalizer until Jermain Defoe sealed the win in the 90th.

It was the seventh victory in eight games for the Spurs, who occupy fifth place with only a goal separating them from fourth place Chelsea.

With the setback, Fulham now sits one point above the relegation zone.

In Bolton, England, the Wanderers finally ended an offensive slump with Bolton notching its first home Premier League triumph of the season after six attempts at the expense of Stoke City, 5-0.

Chris Eagles and Ivan Klasnic scored two goals apiece as Bolton handed Stoke City its fourth loss in five contests.

In Wolverhampton, England, Wolves midfielder David Edwards scored in the 55th followed by Stephen Ward's tally in the 66th, lifting the Wolverhampton Wanderers to a 3-1 win over the struggling Wigan at Molineux Stadium.

Jamie O'Hara put the Wolves up in the 31st but Ben Watson tied in for Wigan shortly before halftime.

It marked the first win for the Wolves in nine games.

The bottom-dweller Lactics absorbed their eight straight loss.
