Cardiff got goals from Kenny Miller and Anthony Gerrard to advance to the last four of the Carling Cup for the first time since 1966 with a 2-0 victory over Blackburn.

Miller opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a low finish and Gerrard gave Cardiff some breathing room with a goal early in the second half, heading home a corner that Blackburn goalie Mark Bunn had failed to corral.

Second-half goals by Maxi Rodriguez and Martin Kelly lifted Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over Chelsea.

The Reds advance to the Carling Cup semifinals and are another step closer to their first title since 2006.

Sergio Aguero pushed Manchester City into the semifinals of the Carling Cup with a late goal after coming off the bench as City posted a 1-0 victory at Arsenal.

Aguero scored with seven minutes left to play as Manchester City came through on a counter attack.

Manchester United meets Crystal Palace in the last quarterfinal.
