Jeremy Lin

The New York Knicks aren't going to let Jeremy Lin get away after a breakout season.

The Knicks are going to match the Houston Rockets' four-year, $28.8 million offer to Lin, who was a restricted free agent. He will be a Knick for at least three seasons with the Knicks holding an option for the fourth.

The Knicks have said they would match any offer Lin receives to keep him, but reports are that Lin was disappointed that New York did not initiate contract talks.

The Rockets tried to back-load the contract to discourage the Knicks from matching the offer. A more severe luxury tax goes into effect in 2014 but that did not seem to bother New York.

The Knicks will pay Lin $5 million in the first year of the contract, and $5.2 million in the second. His salary jumps to $9.3 million in each of the final two years.

Houston waived Lin during training camp last year and he went on to make a name for himself in New York, where he averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists before a knee injury ended his season in March.

Camby headed to Knicks in sign-and-trade deal with Rockets

Unrestricted free agent center Marcus Camby is headed to the New York Knicks in a sign-and-trade deal with the Houston Rockets.

According to multiple reports the Rockets will get Toney Douglas, Jerome Jordan and Josh Harrellson in addition to the Knicks' second-round draft picks in 2014 and 2015.

Camby has agreed to sign a three-year contract worth $13.2 million.

The 2007 NBA Defensive player of the year, Camby join Tyson Chandler, who won that award this season, to provide some formidable post defense.

Camby averaged 7.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in 19 games for the Rockets this past year. He played the first 40 games of the 2011-2012 season with Portland, where he averaged 3.8 points and 8.9 rebounds.

Douglas averaged 6.2 points for the Knicks last season, while Harrellson averaged 4.4 and Jordan 2.0.
