The Chicago Bulls have reached a verbal agreement from free-agent guard Kirk Hinrich on a two-year pact, a league insider disclosed.
The 31-year-old Hinrich reunited with the Bulls after he was traded to the Washington Wizards in 2010.
Averaging 12.5 points and 5.4 assists over 9 years, Hinrich will give the Bulls stability on the backcourt while superstar point guard Derrick Rose is recovering from a knee surgery.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau welcomed Hinrich's return as a big plus for the Bulls, who will try to bounce back from a disappointing injury-marred season.
"He's an experienced guy," Thibodeau told ESPN. "He's played very well for all the teams that he's been with and he brings a lot in terms of veteran experience."
