Dwyane Wade Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade underwent a successful surgery on his troublesome left knee that bothered him all throughout the season.
Wade will need six to eight weeks to get back to full strength, just in time for the start of training camp as the Heat prepare for their title defense next season.
The injured knee had forced Wade to withdraw from consideration for the US basketball team that will see action in the London Olympics.
The knee bothered Wade throughout the entire season and it went worse in the postseason, forcing him to get the knee drained during the Heat's second-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers.
Last season, Wade averaged 22.1 points per game in the regular season and 22.6 in the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But those numbers were lower compared to his 25.5 points per game during the 2010-11 season and 26.5 points per game against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals.
It was not the first time that Wade played through pain during a season. In 2008, Wade struggled through injuries and finished with an average of 24.6 points per game.
When he returned to full health the next season, Wade poured in a career-high average of 30.2 points per game.
Wade also had surgery on his left knee in 2007. He led the Americans in scoring at the Beijing Olympics the next year, averaging 16 points despite coming off the bench in all eight games.
