Derek Holland pitched 8 1-3 stellar innings of two-hit ball, allowing just a pair of hits to Lance Berkman, as the Texas Rangers leveled the World Series at two games each with a 4-0 blanking of the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday.
Mike Napoli had the big hit for the Rangers, belting a three-run homer in the sixth, while Josh Hamilton tacked on an RBI single in the first frame.
Berkman had the only two hits for the Cardinals, including a double in the first frame.
The first four batters in the Cards lineup went hitless in 14 at-bats, including superstar Albert Pujols who went 0-for-4 a game after a historic night in which he belted three homers, collected five hits and knocked in six runs in a Game 3 16-7 pasting of the Rangers.
Edwin Jackson took the loss for the Cards, giving up three hits and three runs over 5 1-3 innings. He was wild in allowing seven walks.
Neftali Feliz recorded the final two outs for the Rangers to close out the contest.
