Justin Braun and Darel Russell scored in the final six minutes to help Toronto FC salvage a 2-2 draw with FC Dallas in Saturday's MLS showdown at BMO Field.

The victory kept Toronto FC unbeaten at home but in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 1-2-2 record.

Despite the draw, FC Dallas remained first in the Western Conference with 13 points, three points clear of idle Chivas USA.

FC Dallas (4-1-1) raced to a 2-0 lead behind goals by Andrew Jacobson and Blas Perez in each half.

After smacking the crossbar just minutes earlier, Jacobson hammered home a headed flick from Kenny Cooper in the 34th minute for a 1-0 FC Dallas lead.

Dallas also had several changes of adding to its lead but Toronto FC held its ground despite missing two regular starters -- Terry Dunfield due to injury and Danny Califf because of flu.

Toronto head coach Ryan Nelsen tried to kick-start his team's offense in the second half by inserting Luis Silva in place of rookie Jonathan Osorio but the decision did not produce immediate dividends.

FC Dallas struck again in the 59th minute when Toronto midfielder John Bostock lost the ball after a tight scramble with Michel.

The ball ended up at the feet of Dallas midfielder Jackson, who then sent a long ball over the top to Perez, who beat Russell for his second goal of the season.

Toronto finally got a break in the 85th minute when Braun, a late substitute, scored on a header in his first appearance of the season.

The home side then completed a comeback in the 90th minute when Russell blasted the ball from 21 yards out past Raul Fernandez to force the deadlock.

Dallas FC will take on the Los Angeles Galaxy at FC Dallas Stadium on April 13 while Toronto FC travels to Philadelphia that same day.
