Coral Gables, FL

Miami will miss 6-10, 292-pound senior Reggie Johnson against Marquette in the Sweet 16.

Johnson underwent a surgical procedure to repair a minor meniscus issue and will not play in this weekend's East Regional games.

He sustained the injury against Illinois and did not travel to the Sweet 16 in Washington, D.C.

A spokesman said Johnson is expected to play in the Final Four if Miami advances.

The winner of the Miami-Marquette game will meet either Indiana or Syracuse for a trip to Atlanta and the Final Four.

In 26 games this season, Johnson averages 6.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game, usually coming off the bench.

When Johnson suffered a thumb injury at a holiday tournament back in December that forced him to miss a month of the season, Miami dropped two games.

Fordham Head Coach Tom Pecora joins SI.com's Maggie Gray and B.J. Schecter to discuss Miami vs. Marquette and Indiana vs. Syracuse.
