A hefty fine awaits Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert after he used a homosexual slur during a post-game interview.

"I really felt that I let Paul down in terms of having his back when LeBron was scoring in the post or getting to the paint, because they stretched me out so much. No homo," Hibbert said in a press conference after the Pacers forced Game 7 with a 91-77 win.

The NBA has a strict policy in dealing with players when it comes to issues involving the gay community. Earlier, the NBA has been active with its players towards expanding public relations with the gay community and on national television.

Also, Hibbert lashed out at media over his low ranking in the voting for the Defensive Player of the Year award, using a profanity to express his sentiment.

"Y'all m------------- don't watch us play throughout the year to tell you the truth," Hibbert said. "So that's fine. I'm going to be real with you, and I don't care if I get fined."

"We play and we're not on TV all of the time and reporters are the ones that are voting and it is what it is. And I don't make it, that's fine. I'm still going to do what I have to do," he added.

Hibbert finished 10th in the voting for the league's best defensive player, won by Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies.
