Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant will be out for six to nine months due to an Achilles heel injury, multiple sources reported.

Bryant torn his Achilles in the waning minutes of the Lakers' 118-116 win over the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center Friday.

Later, it was announced Bryant suffered an Achilles heel injury and is expected to be sidelined from basketball activities for six to nine months.

With this development, the Lakers would have to play without their best player for the remainder of the season and onto the postseason. He will also likely skip training camp due to the lengthy rehabilitation.

Bryant, known for playing through a myriad of injuries, vented out his frustration on his social-media accounts but he also promised his fans to return strong after the injury.

"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer," Bryant said in a statement on his Facebook account.

Kobe Bryant's season-ending injury to his Achilles has fans wondering what this means to his career and to the team.
