2013 NBA Playoffs

Los Angeles, CA

Tim Duncan had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs in giving the Los Angeles Lakers its biggest home playoff loss at 120-89.

Tony Parker added 20 points and seven assists to help the Spurs to a 3-0 first-round lead in the best-of-seven series.

The loss pushed the Lakers to the brink of first-round playoff elimination for the first time since 2007.

San Antonio led throughout the final 44 minutes, going up by 18 in the first half and 25 early in the fourth quarter.

The Lakers played without their top four guards Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Jodie Meeks and Steve Blake due to injury.

Nine of the Lakers' 15 players were on their injury report for Game 3, and Metta World Peace played despite getting fluid drained from a cyst behind his surgically repaired left knee. After the game, World Peace said he'll probably sit out Game 4.

"Whether the team you're playing is whole or banged-up like the Lakers are ... we have to bring the energy and the professionalism to play," Spurs coach GreggPopovich pointed out.

Dwight Howard had 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Pau Gasol added his first career playoff triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Lakers.

Andrew Goudelock scored a career-high 20 points in his first playoff start and fellow starter Darius Morris scored 12 of his 24 points in the blowout fourth quarter.

The previous worst home playoff defeat for the Lakers was 29-point home loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on May 22, 2000.
