Surprisingly, cereal is what gives these minis some of their delicious flavor.

Bathe these tasty meatballs in sweet and sour sauce and serve them over rice, or skewer them with toothpicks and offer them to guests as appetizers.

Makes 6 to 8 servings

Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe Ingredients

2 pounds ground chuck

2 large eggs

1/2 cup Kellogg's All-Bran cereal

1 medium onion, chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 cup packed brown sugar

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups water

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

3 tablespoons soy sauce

Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe Directions

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, cereal, onion and salt. Mix thoroughly and shape into golf ball-sized spheres.

In a large skillet, brown meatballs on all sides over medium heat, in batches.

Transfer to a plate.

In a skillet, whisk together brown sugar and flour.

Slowly whisk in water, vinegar and soy sauce.

Add meatballs and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently until meatballs are cooked through, about 30 minutes
