Dog Games for Rainy Days

Has this ever happened to you? You're all set to go on a walk, but out of nowhere … rain storm! Don't let rainy days get your dog down. Get your game on instead.
There's a simple indoor game you can play to engage your dog both mentally and physically. If you played hide-and-seek as a child, you can play "find it" with Fido. Simply put your dog(s) in a closed room, take a few bits of kibble, and place each bit at obvious locations. I suggest starting with the hallway floor and the corners of one room. Then unleash the hounds and say, "find it." Do this repeatedly until your pooch finds the kibble. You may increase the level of hiding-place difficulty as needed.
Be sure not to overindulge your dogs with too much kibble. The amount you provide during the game should be subtracted from your dog's usual daily intake. The idea is engagement and not indulgence. The next time the skies turn gray, you don't have to turn into a couch potato with your dog. You know what to do.
