400m Runner Martyn Rooney Interview

Martyn Rooney's strong performance recently raises hopes of a medal for Great Britain in the Men's 400 meters.

 

Martyn Rooney, Great Britain, 400m Olympic Athlete, on his hopes for the British team at the Olympics and his own personal performance after setting a new personal best in the 400 meters at the Aviva London Grand Prix.

The 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Track and Field competition schedule consists of 47 events; 24 for men and 23 for women.

Men’s:
Track (100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1,500 m, 5,000 m, 10,000 m, 110 m hurdles, 400 m hurdles, 3,000 m steeplechase, 4 x 100 m relay, 4 x 400 m relay);
Jumping (high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump);
Throwing (shot put, discus, hammer, javelin);
Decathlon
Road events which take place outside the stadium (Marathon, and 20 km and 50 km road walk).

Women’s:
Track (100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1,500 m, 5,000 m, 10,000 m; 100 m hurdles, 400 m hurdles, 3,000 m steeplechase, 4 x 100 m relay, 4 x 400 m relay),
Jumping (high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump); Throwing (shot put, discus, hammer, javelin);
Heptathlon
Road events (Marathon and 20 km road walk ).
