- iHaveNet.com: Movie Reviews
Here's the list of the most successful G-rated films of all time according to box-office earnings.
When most people think of G-rated films, they think of animation, talking animals and epic musical numbers (often all in the same movie). And, as data shows, they're usually right to do so. But anyone that assumes the "General Audience" rated features have nothing to offer but watered-down content is missing out on some of the most compelling stories of our time.
While plenty of G-rated films have received critical acclaim, even more have thrived in the area that Hollywood cares about most -- the box office. Movies marketed toward families all but ensure larger groups turn out to the theaters. G-rated movies have proven their worth to filmmakers, and some films -- think Finding Nemo and the Lion King -- remain among the highest-grossing films ever.
Using data from Gracenote, the team compiled the following list of the 60 most successful G-rated movies by domestic box-office earnings, not adjusted for inflation.
And yes, Disney fans, most of the films you love grabbed a spot on this list. But how will your favorite rank?
