The Apple Watch was first unveiled by Apple CEO Tim Cook on September 9, 2014, at a press event in Cupertino, California.

At the initial launch event, Apple introduced three different models of the Apple Watch: the entry-level Apple Watch Sport, the mid-range Apple Watch, and the luxury Apple Watch Edition. The watches were available in two sizes and a variety of different bands and finishes.

The first Apple Watch was released for sale in April 2015, initially in a few countries including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, with subsequent rollouts in other countries.

Since the initial launch, Apple has continued to release new versions of the Apple Watch, with improvements to both hardware and software. New features have included cellular connectivity, improved health tracking, and additional sensors such as an ECG monitor and blood oxygen monitor.

The Apple Watch has been popular among consumers, and it has been credited with helping to drive growth in the overall wearable technology market. Apple continues to release new versions of the Apple Watch.
