Andre Hainault and Carlo Costly both scored a goal and the Houston Dynamo are headed back to the MLS Cup final after a 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City 2-0 Sunday in the Eastern Conference championship game.

Hainault put Houston ahead 1-0 in the 53rd minute. A free kick by Adam Moffat found its way to Jermaine Taylor who headed a pass to Hainault that he put away for the first goal of the match.

Costly scored late, adding an insurance goal in the 87th minute, with Sporting Kansas City selling out trying to tie things up.

Houston extends its unbeaten streak to nine with the win and is heading to its first league final since winning back-to-back championships in 2006 and 2007.

The Dynamo, who will face Los Angeles or Real Salt Lake in the MLS Cup, are also in the CONCACAF Champions League for the 2012-13 season thanks to Sunday's victory.

Kansas City has not made the title game since a runner-up finish in 2004.
