Dustin Brown scored the game-winner early in the third period and Dwight King scored twice as Los Angeles topped the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-2, in Game 1 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals.

Los Angeles improved to 9-1 this postseason with yet another road win with Game 2 scheduled for Tuesday night in Arizona.

The game was tied, 2-2, entering the third period but it took the Kings just over two minutes to regain the lead. Slava Voynov found Brown breaking our of the L.A. zone and he beat Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith for a 3-2 lead.

King scored in the second period and added an empty-netter in the final minute for his first career two-goal game.

Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick made 25 saves in the win. Smith was solid in the loss, making 44 saves.

The Kings opened the scoring 3:53 into the game. Anze Kopitar got to a loose puck beat Smith high over his glove side with a backhander.

The Coyotes evened things up about 10 minutes later when defenseman Derek Morris intercepted a Los Angeles dump-in attempt and took a 100-foot slapshot that skipped over Quick's right pad and into the net.
