Cleveland, OH
With the NBA lockout coming to a close teams are about to start turning their attention to shoring up their rosters and making moves to prepare for the upcoming season.
Part of that process for the Cleveland Cavaliers will be to decide what to do with guard Ramon Sessions.
Trade interest regarding Sessions has heated up. The New York Knicks are one team interested in him and the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers have been rumored to be interested in Sessions in the past and could be again.
The 25-year-old Sessions averaged 13.3 points and 5.2 assists in 81 games for the Cavs last season.
With Baron Davis and top overall pick Kyrie Irving expected to start for Cleveland this seasion and Daniel Gibson still on the roster, the Cavs have an abundance of small guards.
Sources have also indicated the Cavs are likely to offer free agent Anthony Parker a two-year deal.
Parker, 36, started the majority of games at shooting guard last season, and if he stays in Cleveland the backcourt will be even more crowded and trading Sessions would make even more sense.
Sessions has shown he can play and makes sense as a backup for a contending team or a starter on another team not as stocked at the guard spots as Cleveland.
