The New York Knicks further strengthened their backcourt rotation after signing veteran guard Baron Davis to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.
The Knicks officially acquired Davis Sunday after the former All-Star guard was amnestied by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Davis, averaging 16.5 points, 7.3 dimes, and 3.8 boards in his career, will further boost the Knicks backcourt rotation that already has Toney Douglas, Landry Fields, Mike Bibby and rookie Iman Shupert.
Moreover, Davis' up-tempo style of play seems a perfect fit with Mike D'Antoni's offense in which Amar'e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, and Tyson Chandler are expected to flourish.
The Davis is currently nursing a back injury, which could sideline the former UCLA star for 10 weeks.
