Milwaukee, WI

Nyjer Morgan drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5 of their National League Division Series Friday.

With the win the Brewers advance to the National League Championship Series where they will face either the Philadelphia Phillies or the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS starting Sunday.

Yuniesky Betancourt and Jerry Hairston Jr. each drove in runs for the Brewers, who watched their closer lose the lead in the ninth only to come back against Arizona's closer an inning later.

J.J. Putz pitched the 10th for the Diamondbacks and gave up a one-out single to Carlos Gomez, who promptly stole second.

Morgan followed with a single to center to plate Gomez for the winning run.

The Diamondbacks had tied it at 2-2 in the ninth on a squeeze bunt by Willie Bloomquist. It was Milwaukee closer John Axford's first blown save since April 18.

Axford rebounded to pitch a perfect 10th inning.
