After a forgettable NLDS start against Arizona, Randy Wolf bounced back Thursday night with his first postseason win in the Milwaukee Brewers' 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium that evened the NL championship series at two games apiece.

Wolf (1-0), who lasted just three frames in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Diamondbacks, tossed seven innings of two-run baseball to notch his first career triumph in the postseason.

The Brewers' 35-year-old left-hander, a career 8-8 against St. Louis with a 3.91 ERA in 19 starts entering Thursday, yielded two runs on six hits in the victory. Wolf also struck out six and walked one.

Apart from Wolf's redemptive start, the Brewers win also featured brilliant baserunning from Jerry Hairston Jr., who scored the tying run in the fourth inning.

In the fifth inning, Ryan Braun's run-scoring single proved to be the difference for the Brewers, who also received an RBI each from George Kottaras and Yuniesky Betancourt.

Matt Holliday and Allen Craig smacked solo homers for the Cardinals. St. Louis starter Kyle Lohse was saddled with the loss after yielded three runs on six hits over 4 1-3 innings.

The Brewers will hand the ball to Zack Greinke in Game 5 Friday night against Jaime Garcia.
