Orlando, FL
Yani Tseng, the world's No. 1 female golfer, has said "thanks" but "no thanks" to the PGA Tour and the 2012 Puerto Rico Open in particular.
Tseng had been invited to compete in the 2012 Puerto Rico Open, an opposite-week event from the WGC Cadillac Championship.
Puerto Rico Open chairman Sidney Wolf got the bad news from Tseng's advisor, Ernie Huang.
"Yani wants to remain focused on playing women's events," Huang told the Golf Channel. "It would be too much of a distraction for her right now as she has many other goals she would like to accomplish in the women's game."
Tseng will compete this week starting Thursday in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico in an elite-field event featuring 36 of the world's top women players.
