Tom Lewis has been named the European Tour's Rookie of the Year.

The 20-year-old Englishman made a sensational start after turning professional.

He won the Portugal Masters in only his third appearance.

"I appreciate this very much," Lewis said. "It certainly caps off what has been an amazing year."

 

Luke Donald, Lee Westwood finish one-two in official world golf rankings

Luke Donald was a solid number one and Lee Westwood passed Rory McIlroy for the second spot in the final Official World Golf Rankings of 2011.

Westwood passed McIlroy for the second spot after winning the Thailand Golf Championship Sunday.

Germany's Martin Kaymer was ranked fourth and Australian Adam Scott rounded out the top five.

Steve Stricker is America's top-ranked player in the sixth position with fellow American Dustin Johnson seventh..

Aussie Jason Day took the eighth spot, Masters champion Charl Schwartzel is ninth and Webb Simpson was the only other American in the top 10.

Ian Poulter's win at the Australian Masters moved him to 16th from 28th while Tiger Woods is ranked 23rd.
