Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary still has a job but he won't be doing it Saturday when the Nittany Lions host Nebraska.

McQueary will not coach Saturday against Nebraska because of multiple threats made against him, the school announced Thursday night. McQueary will not be in attendance at the game either.

"Due to multiple threats made against Assisant Coach Mike McQueary, the University has decided it would be in the best interest of all for Assisant Coach McQueary not to be in attendance at Saturday's Nebraska game," the school's athletic department said in a release.

McQueary has been silent since the Penn State program has been rocked by the child sex-abuse scandal that centers around former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, who is facing 40 criminal sex charges.

McQueary reportedly told prosecutors he saw Sandusky sexually assaulting one of the alleged eight victims. He says he told Paterno what he'd witnessed on March 1, 2002. McQueary told the same story to athletic director Tim Curley and vice president of finance Gary Schultz.

McQueary alleges that when he went into the locker room to put away a pair of shoes and grab some film around 9:30 p.m., he heard something in the shower. He turned to see Sandusky having sex with a boy who appeared to be about 10 years old.

Paterno, Curley, Schultz and school president Graham Spanier are all gone and Schultz and Curley have been charged with perjury for allegedly lying under oath.

McQueary has remained silent but his father said if he could, his son would discuss the child sex abuse scandal that has led to the firing of coach Joe Paterno.

"It's not that he's not willing," John J. McQueary, told The New York Times. "I think it's eating him up not to be able to tell his side, but he's under investigation by the grand jury. He'll make it. He's a tough kid."

According to sources who spoke to the Times, McQueary did not withhold details when he talked to Paterno the morning after the alleged incident.
