Urban Meyer could be returning to the sidelines to coach another big time program.

According to a source close to the situation, Ohio State has contacted Meyer about the possibility of becoming head coach.

The source says both sides are interested in the arrangement, though nothing has been finalized and likely won't until after the season.

Meyer works as an analyst for ESPN. He said he hasn't been offered or accepted any job during ESPN's broadcast of the Nebraska-Michigan game.

Meyer won 104 games over 10 seasons and captured two national championships with Florida, Utah and Bowling Green. He left Florida in December 2010, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.

He would take over for Luke Fickell, who has coached on an interim basis since Jim Tressel was let go for in the fallout over a memoribilia for tattoo scandal.
