Week 2 provided another round of fantastic college football action with No. 2 LSU and third-ranked Alabama highlighting Top 10 teams which played this past week by notching impressive wins over their respective foes.

On Saturday, the Tigers mangled Northwestern State 49-3 with Michael Ford and Spencer Ware providing two TDs apiece in the romp at Tiger Stadium.

The No. 3 Crimson Tide, on the other hand, trounced Penn State (No. 23), 27-11.

Top-ranked Oklahoma did not see action this past week.

Meanwhile, No. 5 Florida State, No. 6 Stanford and Wisconsin, which is ranked No. 8th for the week, were also up the win-column Saturday.

At Tallahassee, FL., EJ Manuel tossed for a career-best 329 yards and four TDs in the fifth-ranked Seminoles' 62-10 thumping of Charleston Southern. It was considered an excellent tune-up for next Saturday's tough test, when Florida State welcomes the Sooners at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Stanford also posted an overwhelming victory over the Duke Blue Devils, with Cardinal star signal-caller Andrew Luck matching a career high by tossing four TD passes in the 44-14 romp.

The eighth-ranked Badgers, on the other hand, used a suffocating defense coupled with a brilliant outing from quarterback Russell Wilson in shutting out Oregon State 35-0 at Camp Randall Stadium.

On Thursday, the No. 8 Oklahoma State whipped the Arizona Wildcats 37-14 in a rematch of last year's Alamo Bowl, won by the Cowboys.
