The Cincinnati Bearcats resumed their non-conference schedule Thursday night with 44-14 demolition of the North Carolina State Wolfpack at Nippert Stadium.

Zach Collaros threw for 263 yards and a pair of scores in the blowout victory. He also scrambled for two TD for Cincinnati, which entered Thursday having sandwiched a road loss between two home victories.

The Bearcats are considered to have an easy non-conference slate compared to last season, when they had to face Oklahoma and on the road against NC State.

Isaiah Pead, the other half of Cincy's vaunted quarterback-running combination, along with fellow senior Collaros, gained 167 yards on 27 carries and scored once for the Bearcats (3-1), whose defense stepped up most of the contest.

Thursday marked just the second meeting between the two schools, with the Wolfpack claiming a 30-19 triumph in Raleigh in their first matchup last year.

Mike Glennon completed 25-of-36 passes for 334 yards with a pair of TD and two interceptions for the Wolfpack (2-2), who were outgained 322-503 in the loss.

North Carolina State struggled to come back after trailing 21-0 early in the second stanza.

The Bearcats were up 24-7 at halftime.

Cincinnati is expected to carry the momentum on Oct. 1, when they collide with Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio.
