The Ohio State Buckeyes failed in their bid to post a 3-0 start for the first time since 2007 after getting thrashed by the Miami-Florida Hurricanes in this past weekend's non-conference clash at Sun Life Stadium.

Jacory Harris, back under center after serving a one-game suspension, threw for 123 yards while completing 16-of-23 throws in helping lead the 'Canes to a 24-6 dismantling of their No. 17 ranked opponent.

Harris threw a pair of three-yard TD passed to Allen Hurns in the opening quarter as the Miami surged to a 14-0 lead heading into the second period. The Hurricanes headed for the locker room with 17-6 advantage at halftime.

Ohio State (2-1) had played well offensively in its past two games, posting 34.5 ppg and 490.0 total ypg, but on Saturday night the Buckeyes looked pathetic offensively outside of some good running.

The Buckeyes were outgained 209-363.

The Hurricanes likewise held Ohio State's signal-callers Joe Bauserman and Braxton Miller to a dismal total of 4-of-18, 35-yard passing performance.

On Saturday, the quarterback issue at Ohio State was among the notable problems highlighted, and the Buckeyes looked like a team missing some of its best players, especially former star signal-caller Terrelle Pryor.

Bauserman connected on just 2-of-14 passes for 13 yards in defeat. Miller threw for 22 yards and a pick on 2-of-4 completions.

OSU also had a poor 3rd-down conversion rate, going 4-for-12 while allowing Miami to go 9-for-15.

Lamar Miller gained 184 yards on 26 carries for the Hurricanes (1-1), who bounced back from a 32-24 loss at Maryland in their opener Sept. 5.
