Trent Richardson ran for two scores as the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide dismantled the 12th ranked Florida Gators 38-10, in an early showdown between two of the Southeastern Conference heavyweights Saturday night at The Swamp.

Richardson, who ran for 126 yards in Alabama's rout of Arkansas last week en route its 20th consecutive conference-opening win, defied the Gators defense as the Heisman hopeful posted a career-high 181 yards on 29 carries.

In what was billed as a matchup between Florida's speed against the Tide's power, Alabama went on to finish the night with 366 total yards, 226 of them on the ground and 181 of those came from Richardson.

Nick Saban's offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage, preventing any sacks of AJ McCarron on the night.

In the contest, Alabama allowed 10 points and 222 yards, only nine of those coming on the ground.

McCarron connected on 12 of 25 passes for 140 yards for the Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0 SEC), who have won all of their games by double-digits.

Gators quarterback John Brantley completed 11-of-16 for 190 yards, one score and one interception before leaving the game late in the second quarter due to a right leg injury.

After a stunning start from the Gators, the Alabama defense woke up and turned the heat on Brantley, who threw a 65 yard TD bomb to Andre Debose on the first official snap.

The Tide defense continued to keep Brantley on check before sending the Florida signal-caller into the locker room with a right leg injury following a second consecutive sack.

Alabama owns a 23-14 series advantage over the Gators.
