Tuscaloosa, AL

After a slow and stuttering start, the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide turned Saturday night's clash with Vanderbilt into another easy win with AJ McCarron posting career highs and Trent Richardson again running for more than 100 yards in a 34-0 rout of the Commodores in SEC action.

McCarron threw a career high four TD passes, two of those passes were caught by DeAndrew White as the Tide defeated Vanderbilt for the 21st straight time.

The 21-year-old McCarron, who became the starting quarterback for the Tide in the 2011 campaign, continued his solid performance on the season by completing 23-of-30 passes for 237 yards, also a career high.

Richardson rushed for 107 yards and a TD in his fifth straight 100-yard effort for Alabama, which led 7-0 after the first quarter. The Tide had a 14-0 advantage at halftime.

The Crimson Tide (6-0, 3-0 SEC) have won all their games by double digits.

It was also the second shutout posted this season by the Tide, whose defense remains impressive.

After allowing 142 yards in the first half, the Alabama defense intensified in the second half, allowing only 19 yards in the third quarter. Vanderbilt was held to just 190 yards of offense and eight first downs overall.

With Alabama's stingy defense, Commodores quarterback Jordan Rodgers managed to register 23 yards on four carries, while no other Vanderbilt player was able to post more than six yards rushing.

The Crimson Tide totaled 419 yards of offense and 24 first downs.
