Sophomore quarterback AJ McCarron was 14-for-19 passing for 190 yards and three touchdowns and the Alabama Crimson Tides kept themselves in the BCS title hunt with a 45-21 victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

With Iowa State stunning no.2 ranked Oklahoma State 37-31 in a thrilling double overtime game Friday, Alabama saw another opportunity to crack into the BCS Championship game.

Heisman Trophy candidate Trent Richardson rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. A four-yard TD pass by McCarron gave the Crimson Tide a 17-point cushion in the second quarter.

McCarron easily dissected the defense with three touchdown passes, including two in the second half, to foil Georgia South's mini run and give Alabama another win going into the final week of the season.

Senior quarterback Jaybo Shaw went 1-for-5 with 39 yards and 1 TD for Georgia Southern, which dropped to 9-2 overall after opening their season with seven straight wins.

Alabama roared once again into the BCS Championship picture following the Cowboys shocking loss to Iowa.

With Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma and Stanford each with one loss and No.1 LSU facing a dangerous Arkansas squad, the BCS championship game will remain unclear until the final week.
