Barry Bonds made a return to San Francisco to watch the Giants recently. It appears that he is hoping for a more permanent return to the organization as well.

The game's home run king was on hand for San Francisco's 4-2 triumph over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. Five years removed from his final game, Bonds said he'd like to return to the organization as an instructor.

Bonds talked with reporters before the game and joined the team's broadcast team during the game. Among the topics he spoke about was a new sport, cycling, and that he was in attendance for charity work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area.

Formerly curt and not very open with the media, Bonds spoke of his dealings in court. He is appealing a felony conviction for obstruction of justice and noted he was not found guilty of steroid use.

"I'm a convicted felon for obstruction of justice, and that's who I am," Bonds said. "I live with it. ... I went through the system. That's what they gave me. I'm in appeal right now. I was never convicted of steroids."

Soon to be eligible for the Hall of Fame, Bonds spoke of his chances for getting in. His candidacy is sure to be a hot topic in the media and with voters when it comes up.

"It would be very sad if it didn't happen," Bonds said. "I don't worry about that stuff. I'll be at home having a good time with my life and my kids. Or hopefully here. Doing some stuff for kids. And hopefully doing stuff to help the organization. That'll take care of itself. I don't need to worry about that stuff."
