Steelers 31-14, while the Giants defeated the Panthers in overtime, 34-28. Despite the loss, the Steelers will hold on
to the 2nd seed in the AFC and the Panthers have clinched an NFC playoff spot. However, the Panthers (11-4) may well
need to win their final game to ensure the number 2 seed in the NFC as the Falcons are now only one game behind in the NFC
South after their 24-17 victory over the Vikings in Minnesota.
The Vikings are now only one game ahead of the Bears in the NFC North who play this evening on Monday Night Football
The Chargers (7-8) road victory upset over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-24 combined with the Broncos (8-7) loss at home
to the Bills 30-23, sets up a showdown on Sunday night between the Chargers and Broncos in San Diego for the AFC West division
title.
In the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins (10-5) are in first place with their win over the Chiefs, 38-31. The Patriots
kept pace record-wise with their 47-7 dismantling of the Cardinals at home, while the Jets lost in Seattle 13-3 to fall
a game behind in the AFC East standings.
This season's playoff scenarios and playoff races are even tighter and more unpredicatble than seasons past.
This year, it may well go down to the final game of the regular season.

In the NFC the Giants (12-3) have clinched the NFC East and NFC homefield advantage, while the Cardinals (8-7) won the NFC
West. The Panthers and Falcons have both clinched at least a wildcard playoff birth. One of the two will wind up winning
the NFC South division.

the Seattle Seahawks (3-11), the San Francisco 49ers (5-9), the Green Bay Packers (5-9) and the New Orleans Saints (7-7)

Thursday Night Battle Between Colts & Jags Still Meaningful
Although not the case this season, the matchup between these two division rivals is still meaningful.
A victory this Thursday night ensures the Colts an AFC Wildcard berth. The Jaguars (5-9) host
the hottest team in the NFL. After their mediocre 3-4 start to the season, the Colts have won seven in a row
to improve their record to 10-4.
Ravens vs. Cowboys: Identical Records & Playoff Aspirations
The game features a matchup of teams with identical 9-5 records fighting for a Wildcard playoff berth in their
respective conferences. The Ravens come off a deflating 13-9 loss to the Steelers while the Cowboys head into the
game after a convincing 20-8 victory against the New York Giants.
Falcons are No Match for Vikings at Metrodome
The Vikings can clinch the NFC North this week, while the Falcons have a chance to earn a Wildcard spot this week.
However, the Falcons are simply not built for the road this season proving that not all 9-5 records are equal.
NFC Leaders Battle It Our for Home Field Supremacy
The NFC's top playoff seed is at stake this Sunday night when the Carolina Panthers visit the New York Giants. The
Giants and Panthers have identical 11-3 records, but appear to be going in different directions.
The Battle for the AFC King of the Hill
The top two seeds in the AFC meet this Sunday, as the AFC South Champion Tennessee Titans (12-2) host the
AFC North Champion Pittsburgh Steelers (11-3). While both teams have clinched a first-round playoffs bye,
this Sunday game will likely determine which team gains homefield advantage in the AFC.
Playoff Races in Full Swing as Teams Vie for Position
with Only Three Weeks Left
NFL 2008 Weekend 15 - Playoff Races, Playoff Scenarios & Strength of Schedule
Three weeks left in the regular season and only 3 teams have clinched playoff spots as the NFL's playoff race gets even
tighter.
Titans (12-1) clinched AFC South by defeating Browns 28-9. Cardinals NFC West champs with 34-10 over the Saint
Louis Rams. Giants lost to the Eagles 20-14, but win NFC East due to Dallas Cowboys 20-13 loss to Steelers.
NFL 2008 Week 14 Playoff Races & Playoff Scenarios
Two things for sure heading into Week 14 -- 5 teams have been eliminated and no team has clinched a playoff birth
so far. Cardinals and Titans had the opportunity to clinch last week. However, never materialized. Both can clinch
this week plus a few more teams are in the hunt.
NFL 2008 Week 13 Playoff Races & Playoff Scenarios
Cardinals and Titans can become the first teams this NFL 2008 season to clinch playoff berths on Thanksgiving.
12 teams in the NFC are within one game of .500 or better entering NFL 2008 Week 13. The Eagles & Panthers have
the toughest remaining schedule of the contenders. In the AFC, the NFL 2008 playoff picture is becoming clearer as 9
AFC teams are at least one game above .500.
