NFL 2008 RSS
NFL 2008 Week 14 was a week in which three teams clinched NFL playoff spots. The Tennessee Titans (12-1) clinched the
AFC South by defeating the Cleveland Browns 28-9. The Arizona Cardinals won the NFC West by winning 34-10 over the Saint
Louis Rams.
And even though, they lost to the Eagles 2-14, the Giants clinched the NFC East by virtue of the Dallas Cowboys
20-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ten NFL teams have now been eliminated from playoff contention due to results of NFL 2008 Week 14 contests.
The NFL playoff picture can become even clearer after this week.
The New York Giants (11-2) can secure a first-round bye this weekend. The Titans (12-1) can earn homefield advantage
throughout the playoffs on Sunday when they face the Texans in Houston.
As the NFL enters Week 15, 12 NFC teams are still alive for a playoff berth in the NFC.
The NFL 2008 Week 15 schedule features a number of NFC teams vying for a playoff spot.
On Thursday night, the New Orleans Saints (7-6) visit the Chicago Bears (7-6). Two NFC East rivals will meet on Sunday
night when the Dallas Cowboys (8-5) host the Giants. And on Monday night, the Philadelphia Eagles (7-5-1) look to
extend their winning streak to three games and keep their playoff drive alive when they face the Cleveland Browns at home.
In the AFC 10 teams are squeezed into the playoff picture.
Miami Dolphins rookie head coach TONY SPARANO, whose club is in the heat of the AFC East playoff push, says the
focus is to believe in "now."
"I learn an awful lot from this team every single week and this week [after a 16-3 win over Buffalo] they taught me
that they really focus on the 'now,'" says Sparano. "I think they have done a nice job focusing on the 'now,' not worrying
about anything down the road. Every day we come to work, there's a new challenge in front of us, the stakes get bigger and
bigger."
The Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3) and Denver Broncos (8-5) can clinch division titles this weekend
while the Indianapolis Colts (9-4) and Baltimore Ravens (9-4) are on the cusp of earning playoff berths.
The New York Jets (8-5), New England Patriots (8-5) and Miami Dolphins (8-5) are battling for the AFC East title.
The San Diego Chargers (5-8) chances may be slim, but they still have a shot at catching the Broncos for the AFC
West division title.

to secure a playoff berth. With a Titans win and an Indianapolis loss on Sunday, Tennessee would clinch its first AFC
South Division title since 2002.
Among the AFC clubs seeking to strengthen their position in a competitive field are the AFC East-leading New York
Jets. Jets head coach ERIC MANGINI is cognizant of what is at stake as the NFL
season turns to the stretch run.
"Every game becomes that much more important. I don't think that anybody is satisfied with what theyve done to
this point" says Mangini.

Mad Dash to the Playoffs as NFL 2008 Season Enters Its Final 3 Weeks
The final three weeks of the NFL 2008 season are upon us, and aside from the division-winning Arizona Cardinals (8-5),
New York Giants (11-2) and Tennessee Titans (12-1), it's a mad dash for the nine remaining playoff spots among the 19 teams still
eligible. There will be twists and turns in the remaining 3 weeks of the NFL 2008 regular season.
Giants & Cowboys Look to Get Back to Their Winning Ways
NFC East champion Giants (11-2) look to clinch a 1st round playoff bye as they visit the
Dallas Cowboys (8-5) on Sunday Night Football.
The Cowboys need to keep winning to insure their playoff berth.
The Giants are 5-1 on the road and the Dallas Cowboys are 5-1 at home this season.
Saints Face Bears and Chicago's December Chill
The big question is whether Quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints top-ranked NFL passing offense can perform up to
its explosive level outdoors in the December chill of the Chicago night. The New Orleans Saints utilized a more
balanced run / pass attack last week in topping the Atlanta Falcons 29-25.
AFC North Division Rivals Set for Defensive Battle
NFL 2008 Week 15 presents one of the most heated rivalries in the NFL between two AFC North division foes as the
Steelers travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens this Sunday. On paper, this AFC North match-up should be one intense
defensive battle. Pittsburgh enters the contest ranked No. 1, while the Ravens are No. 2.
Real-Deal Panthers Set to Expose Broncos at Home
The AFC West-leading Broncos (8-5) face the NFC South-leading Panthers (10-3) in Week 15. Denver heads to Carolina
sporting a 3-game road winning streak and winners of 4 of their last 5. The Panthers come off their most
impressive victory of the season proving they are the real-deal this season.
No Place Like Home in the NFC South Falcons host Buccaneers in Make-or-Break Game
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons look to rebound after both lost on the road last week to NFC South Division rivals.
Both teams are in need of this win to maintain their standing in the NFC Wildcard race and perhaps the NFC South Divsion Title.
AFC East Leading Jets Aim to Rebound Against Bills
After defining moment victories on the road against the Patriots & Titans, the Jets have fallen to lesser opponents over the
past two weeks. First losing to the Broncos at home (34-17) and then losing to the 49ers (24-14) in San Francisco, the Jets
now find themselves in a dogfight for the AFC East title.
NFC Division Leading Vikings & Cardinals Clash in Desert
This Sunday's game is a match-up of first-place teams with 8-5 records as the Vikings visit the Cardinals in Arizona.
The Minnesota Vikings have a one-game lead on Chicago in the NFC North. The Cardinals are the NFC West champions.
NFL 1958 Championship: Giants vs Colts The Greatest NFL Game Ever Played
50th Anniversary of the Greatest NFL Game Ever Played: 1958 NFL Championship at Yankee Stadium
Fifty years ago this December 28, 2008, what would become known as "The Greatest Game every Played" took
place - the 1958 NFL Championship Game between the Baltimore Colts and New York Giants at Yankee
Stadium in New York City.
And when Colts fullback ALAN AMECHE burst through a hole
for a one-yard touchdown with 6:45 left in overtime (left) at 4:51 on a foggy, drizzly day
he took the National Football League with him into a new era.
NFL 2008 Week 14 Playoff Races & Playoff Scenarios
Two things are for sure heading into NFL 2008 Week 14: Five NFL teams have been eliminated while no team clinched
a playoff birth in NFL Week 13. Both the Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans had an opportunity to clinch playoff
spots last week. However, that never materialized. Both can clinch this week plus a few more teams are in the hunt.
