The Minnesota Vikings have traded disgruntled wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for three draft picks, including a first-round choice.

The move was a complete turnaround from Minnesota's earlier stand that they will not trade Harvin, one of their exciting players, amid the wide receiver's request that he be sent to another squad.

A source, who requested anonymity because the move had not been announced by either team, said the deal is pending a physical.

With his entry, Seattle has given sophomore quarterback Russell Wilson another formidable target alongside Sidney Rice.

The 24-year-old Harvin caught 62 passes for 677 yards in nine games for the Vikings last season and was in the early MVP conversation before spraining his ankle.

In any of his four seasons, Harvin has yet to start in all 16 games or surpass 1,000 receiving yards.

In Seattle, Harvin will be reunited with Seahawks defensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who coached Harvin in Minnesota in 2009 and 2010.

When he was with the USC Trojans, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll recruited Harvin to play for USC when he was a a prep standout in Virginia Beach.

"He's so good you've just got to showcase him. He was arguably the best player in America coming out of school. So the fact that he's playing with all the top guys in the league, that's fitting," Carroll told the Seattle Times in October.
