Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has no plan of joining teammate Ray Lewis in retirement, saying he will play next year.

"I'll be playing next year. Next question," Reed told the Baltimore Sun, adding that he recently bought a back to prepare for next season.

Reed will be playing alongside Lewis for the final time when they take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.

When he turned unrestricted free agency after the season, Reed will surely attract interest from several teams, including the New England Patriots.

It's also possible that the Ravens could use the franchise tag on Reed, but they might need to save the tag for quarterback Joe Flacco.

In the playoffs, Reed has done an effective job helping prevent big plays against Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

In his 11-year career, Reed made it to the Pro Bowl nine times. He holds the Ravens franchise record for interceptions with 61 and owns the NFL record 1,541 yards in interception returns.

Meanwhile, Reed has been watching films on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick to prepare for 49ers signal-caller Colin Kaepernick.
