There was no wardrobe malfunction at this year's Super Bowl, but CBS is in hot water after Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was heard screaming expletives during the celebration of their Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers.
After the Ravens prevailed over the 49ers, 34-31, to win their second Super Bowl trophy, a happy Flacco was overheard dropping some swear words while celebrating through several broadcast microphones.
While CBS delays the pre-game, halftime and post-game portions of its broadcast, Flacco's celebration was covered live.
Though Flacco was just celebrating the moment, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could be not as forgiving as it already gone after networks for similar incidents.
However, the FCC hasn't been successful in its efforts to punish television networks guilty of such offense. Last year, the Supreme Court tossed an FCC fine of Fox for swearing by Cher and Nicole Richie that made it on the air during awards shows.
The Supreme Court, however, does not stop the FCC from continuing to pursue fines for fleeting expletives.
Usually, the FCC does not issue a fine without complaints from viewers. Flacco's swearing happened after 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The FCC's so-called indecency rules run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, Flacco, who was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing three touchdown passes, will be going to Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park Monday for a celebratory parade.
"The world just saw quarterback Joe Flacco lead the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl win tonight in New Orleans, so the only question now is what Flacco is going to do next," Disney officials wrote on its official website.
"Unless you have been stuck inside Space Mountain the last 20 years, the answer is pretty obvious: He's going to Disney World, of course!" Disney added.
