A recent survey by the website CouponCabin reveals that for some die-hard football fans, life events would get in the way of attending the Super Bowl.

Twenty-three percent of those surveyed said they would give up a vacation to attend the game featuring their favorite team, and another 21 percent said an important work event would just have to wait.

Twenty percent said they would miss the wedding of a close friend, and 19 percent said they would skip a funeral for a friend for family member if they could see their favorite team in the big game.

Perhaps the most eye-opening stat was that 15 percent said they would skip the birth of their child if they had tickets to watch their team play for the coveted title.

Of those polled, 56 percent said they plan to watch this year's game which pits the New England Patriots against the New York Giant at Indianapolis on Feb. 5.

Super Bowl XLVI is a rematch of a game played in 2008 in which the Giants surprisingly ended the Patriots bid for a perfect season.

More than 100 million viewers are expected to tune into NBC on Sunday to watch the drama, with the majorly being men. Others will watch simply for the commercials and half-time show, featuring Madonna.

NBC also plans to stream the big game on the web, the first time that has happened in the United States.

All signs are that Sunday's game could reset the bar as the most watched telecast in U.S. history.
