Joe Namath was right when he guaranteed his New York Jets would win a Super Bowl but it remains to be seen if his opinion of Tim Tebow works out, but the Jets had better hope not.

Namath said he doesn't think that Tebow can even be the New York Jets' back-up quarterback, let alone a starter.

"God forbid something happens to (Mark) Sanchez," Namath told ESPNNewYork.com. "See, this is where I'm confused. I don't think the second guy really is Tebow."

Namath is concerned about Tebow's throwing motion and does not feel the former Florida star and last year's denver Broncos starter can consistently make NFL throws.

"I don't think he can consistently play the quarterback position as we know it as opposed to the Wildcat without improving his passing accuracy," Namath said."You've got to be more accurate than that today, and Tim's got a big motion. He's working on it, and he can improve it. So that remains to be seen."

This is not the first time Namath has been critical of Tebow.

Joe Namath had called the Jets' trade for Tebow "a publicity stunt" and later that the move proved the Jets were "more interested in headlines" than winning a championship.
