New York Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow said they are having a great time playing together, denying an earlier comment of wideout Santonio Holmes.
Tebow, 25, said he and Mark Sanchez have a great rapport ever since his arrival in New York.
"I don't know that he was rattled," Tebow told ESPN Friday. "He called me a few hours after (the trade) happened and we had a great talk and I (feel) like our relationship has been great ever since -- even before that."
Tebow's comment came after Holmes disclosed the Sanchez was 'rattled' following the trade that sent the former Denver Broncos quarterback to the Jets.
"I think since Day 1, it was a focus that kind of rattled him a little," the mercurial wide receiver said. "I use that word only to say that, 'Wow, how did this happen?' Those were words that came out of his mouth," Holmes told ESPN this week.
On the other hand, Sanchez called Holmes' comment a 'little dramatic,' admitting he indeed ask some questions regarding the trade but has already cleared all of it after talking with the team.
"Anybody in that situation would have a couple of questions about a trade like that. But as soon as I talked to the team, I really started to understand that (Tebow) is an addition, he's not changing anything. He's here to help us," Sanchez said during a radio interview with Larry Hardesty of ESPN New York.
The 25-year-old Sanchez is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Jets with Tebow stepping in some situations.
The Jets open their season against the Buffalo Bills Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
