The Arizona Cardinals hit defensive end Darnell Dockett with a $200,000 fine for conduct detrimental to the team, allegedly defying his coach's order late in the fourth period against the New York Jets Sunday.

The Cardinals coaching staff wanted the New York Jets to score for an eight-point lead, giving Arizona a chance to get the ball back and tie the game.

However, Dockett argued with teammate Kerry Rhodes over the plan and later with the Cardinals coaching staff.

It was also reported that Dockett spit on Rhodes during the altercation, but it was denied by the latter in a statement.

After the altercation, Jets running back Shonn Greene broke free and knelt down at the Arizona 1-yard line, allowing New York to run out the clock en route to a 7-6 victory.

A source said the NFL Players Association has already started the process of filing a grievance on Dockett's behalf.

Dockett later thanked the NFLPA on Twitter, adding that "I ain't got no worries."

He also apologized to the team Wednesday while Rhodes said in a statement that he already talked to Dockett after the game.

"I'm not going to get into all the details because I think those are things you keep within the team. But Darnell and I talked after the game, we're both moving on and I'll leave it at that," Rhodes said in a statement.

Now, the 31-year-old Dockett, who signed a six-year, $56 million contract with the Cardinals in 2010, has to focus on mending ties with teammates who were left disappointed and angry by the incident.
