The Pittsburgh Steelers have contacted their ex-player James Harrison to inform him that they are not interested in bringing him back for the 2013 season.

This was the team's reaction after Harrison's agent, Bill Parise, told ESPN that the five-time Pro Bowl player would "welcome" discussions with the Steelers for a possible return.

Harrison has received very little interest in free agency, and he was taking a free-agent visit in Baltimore on Sunday when the Ravens agreed to terms with Elvis Dumervil.

He was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 9 after refusing to take a pay cut out of his $6.57 million pay for 2013.

The leading candidate to replace Harrison is Jason Worilds, a 2009 second-round pick.

"I believe that Jason Worilds is chomping at the bit to prove he is capable of being that," said Steelers coach Mike Tomlin during the NFL owners meetings last week.

"When I first got to Pittsburgh in 2007, and we had to let go of Joey Porter, there was a guy that came in my office that was ready to prove that he was capable of 900-1,000 snaps a year. His name was James Harrison. We will see what Worilds is capable of doing," added Tomlin.

Parise told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Monday that he "has a couple things going on" with some other NFL teams in regard to Harrison.
