The Oakland Raiders were the leading team to land Seahawks backup quarterback Matt Flynn; and finally they did. The Raiders acquired quarterback Flynn from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for draft picks in 2014 and 2015.
The Raiders' acquisition most likely means an end to Carson Palmer's stint as the Raiders' starting quarterback. The Raiders had acquired Palmer from the Bengals in 2011, trading away two valuable draft picks: 2012 first-round and 2013 second-round. The former Pro Bowl quarterback is expected to be traded to the Arizona Cardinals.
After showing promise as Aaron Rodgers' backup with the Green Bay Packers, Flynn capitalized on the opportunity and signed a three-year, $26 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks. However, Flynn failed to beat out rookie Russell Wilson for the starting QB job.
