New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said he has no issues about having gay teammates.

"You've got to accept the player. Everyone has their own ways to live their life and as long as he's respecting me, keeping distance, respecting myself, I'll respect him back," he replied when asked about having an openly gay player teammate.

"He's another teammate and another friend," he added.

But Gronkowski has no idea how other players would react since he never asked anyone about the issue and never tried to find out if there is a gay player on the team.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita is among the NFL players who have been vocal in casting support for a gay teammate. He recently filed a brief in California supporting marriage equality for same-sex couples. He wrote a New York Times essay preaching acceptance of homosexuality.

A report from CBSSports.com this week states that a current NFL player is "strongly considering" publicly admitting he is gay.

Former NFL defensive lineman Esera Tuaolo revealed he is gay in 2002, three years after he retired from football.
