The New York Giants have signed wide receiver Victor Cruz to a six-year, $46 million contract extension that will pay him guaranteed money of $15.625 million in the first two seasons, a league source said.

The source said that Cruz will get a $9.5 million signing bonus and an additional $1.5 million roster bonus that will be paid in 2014.

The new deal also includes the first-round restricted free-agent tender worth $2.879 million that Cruz signed in June after months of stalled negotiations over a long-term extension and adds five additional seasons.

It was earlier reported that the Giants were expected to sign Cruz before training camp.

The 26-year-old Cruz is coming off two productive seasons with a total of 168 catches for 2,628 yards and 19 touchdowns.

With Cruz signed, the Giants will now focus on their other receiver Hakeem Nicks, who is in the final year of his contract.
