NFL 2013 Week 8: AFC Players of the Week

Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones, Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop are the AFC Players of the Week for games played the eighth week of the 2013 season

Offense: WR Marvin Jones, Cincinnati Bengals

Jones had eight receptions for 122 yards (15.3 average) with four touchdown receptions in the Bengals' 49-9 win over the New York Jets.

Jones' four TD catches are the most in a single game in club history and the most in an NFL game since November 18, 2007 (RANDY MOSS and TERRELL OWENS, four each).

Became the first player in NFL history to score on four touchdown passes of less than 15 yards in one game (9, 6, 14, 6).

Has a career-best in receptions (24), receiving yards (369) and touchdown catches (seven) in 2013.

In his second season from California, this is Jones' first AFC Offensive Player of the Week award.

He is the first Bengals wide receiver to win Offensive Player of the Week honors since CHAD JOHNSON in 2007 (Week 12).

Jones joins quarterback ANDY DALTON (Week 6) as the second Bengal to win Offensive Player of the Week this season.

Defense: CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Denver Broncos

Rodgers-Cromartie totaled five tackles, including one tackle for a loss, three passes defensed and a 75-yard interception-return touchdown in the Broncos' 45-21 win over Washington.

His three passes defensed were the most in the AFC in Week 8.

Registered his fifth career interception-return touchdown, the third-most since he entered the NFL in 2008.

Rodgers-Cromartie played a pivotal role for a defense that totaled four interceptions (tied season-high), and held the Redskins to 266 total net yards (154 passing, 112 rushing).

In his sixth season from Tennessee State, this is Rodgers-Cromartie's second career Defensive Player of the Week Award. He previously won the award with the Arizona Cardinals in 2009 (Week 5).

Rodgers-Cromartie is the first Broncos cornerback to win Defensive Player of the Week honors since TRACY PORTER in 2012 (Week 1).

Special Teams: K Ryan Succop, Kansas City Chiefs

Succop connected on three of four field goals (42, 35, 40) and two extra points in the Chiefs' 23-17 win over Cleveland.

Succop's three field goals tied for an AFC-best in Week 8 (NICK FOLK).

His two field goals of 40+ yards (42, 40), tied for an AFC-best last week (Folk).

Registered 11 of Kansas City's 23 points for the game.

With 22 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Succop connected on a 40-yard field goal to extend the Chiefs' lead to 23-17.

In his fifth season from South Carolina, this is Succop's third Special Teams Player of the Week Award, surpassing LAWRENCE TYNES (two) and PETE STOYANOVICH (two) for the most Player of the Week awards by a Chiefs kicker since the accolade was instituted in 1984.

He most recently won the award in 2011 (Week 15).
