NFL 2013 Week 7: AFC Players of the Week

Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck, Bills Defensive End Mario Williams and Steelers Kicker Shaun Suisham are the AFC Players of the Week for games played the seventh week of the 2013 season

Offense: QB Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts

Luck passed for 228 yards with three touchdowns versus zero interceptions and a 99.5 passer rating in the Colts' 39-33 win over Denver on Sunday Night Football. He rushed for 29 yards, including a 10-yard TD run.

Luck's three touchdown passes tied for NFL-best in Week 7. Posted second game of career with three+ TD passes (four at Detroit on December 2, 2012)

He has three rushing touchdowns this season, most among NFL quarterbacks. Since 2012, Luck has eight career rushing touchdowns, the second-most among NFL quarterbacks during that span (CAM NEWTON, 10).

Helped the Colts register a season-best 39 points.

Improved his career record to 10-2 (.833) at home.

In his second season from Stanford, this is Luck's second AFC Offensive Player of the Week award. He previously won the award in 2012 (Week 9).

Luck is the first Colt to win Player of the Week honors this season.

Defense: DE Mario Williams, Buffalo Bills

Williams registered three tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble in the Bills' 23-21 win at Miami.

With 2:57 remaining in the fourth quarter and the Bills trailing 21-20, Williams forced a fumble (recovered by KYLE WILLIAMS) by sacking Dolphins quarterback RYAN TANNEHILL, leading to a 31-yard game-winning field goal by DAN CARPENTER.

He registered both of his sacks in the fourth quarter.

Through Week 7, Williams is tied for second in the NFL with 10 sacks.

Williams' 10 sacks are the most by a Bill in the first seven games of a season.

In his eighth season from North Carolina State, this is Williams' fourth career Defensive Player of the Week Award. He most recently won the award in Week 2.

Williams is the first Bills player to win Defensive Player of the Week honors twice in a single-season since linebacker BRYCE PAUP in 1995 (Weeks 3 and 7).

Special Teams: K Shaun Suisham, Pittsburgh Steelers

Suisham connected on all four field goals (34, 28, 38, 42) and one extra point in the Steelers' 19-16 win over Baltimore.

Suisham's four field goals were an NFL-best in Week 7.

Registered 13 of Pittsburgh's 19 points for the game.

With three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Suisham connected on a game-winning 42-yard field goal to lift the Steelers over the Ravens.

Recorded his eighth game-winning field goal of career and sixth with the Steelers.

Through Week 7, Suisham is one of six players to connect on all field goals (14-of-14) this season.

In his ninth season from Bowling Green State, this is Suisham's fourth Special Teams Player of the Week Award. He most recently won the award in 2012 (Week 13).

Kansas City running back JAMAAL CHARLES, who totaled 123 scrimmage yards (86 rushing, 37 receiving) with one rushing touchdown in the Chiefs' 17-16 win over Houston.

Cincinnati quarterback ANDY DALTON, who completed 24 of 34 passes (70.6 percent) for 372 yards with three touchdowns versus zero interceptions and a 135.9 passer rating in the Bengals' 27-24 win at Detroit.

Denver wide receiver ERIC DECKER, who had eight receptions for 150 yards (18.8 average) with one touchdown in the Broncos' 39-33 loss at Indianapolis.

Cincinnati wide receiver A.J. GREEN, who had six catches for 155 yards (25.8 average) and a touchdown.

San Diego quarterback PHILIP RIVERS, who completed 22 of 26 passes (84.6 percent) for 285 yards with one touchdown versus zero interceptions and a 125.2 passer rating in the Chargers' 24-6 win at Jacksonville.

New England defensive end CHANDLER JONES, who registered 11 tackles, two sacks and forced one fumble in the Patriots 30-27 overtime loss to the Jets.

Indianapolis linebacker ROBERT MATHIS, who had five tackles, two sacks and forced one fumble.

Pittsburgh linebacker LAWRENCE TIMMONS, who had 17 tackles.
