Two weeks into the NFL season, offensives are putting on impressive displays.
"It's a quarterback's league," says CBS analyst and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback DAN FOUTS. "It's how the game has evolved."
Quarterbacks are putting up numbers at an historic rate. There have been 16,355 net passing yards so far this season, the most ever through the first two weeks of a season and the most for any two-week span in a single season in league history.
"We're seeing a new age of quarterbacks," says NFL Network analyst and former NFL quarterback KURT WARNER. "We're seeing more quarterbacks with good numbers than at any time in the history of the league."

2002 | 13,820 | Weeks 3-4, 2012 | 15,466 |
In fact, the first two weeks of the 2013 season are the top two individual weeks for net passing yards in NFL history.

"We're deeper at quarterback than we have ever been," says NFL Network analyst and former head coach BRIAN BILLICK. "There are so many good, quality quarterbacks and wide receivers. It only makes sense that we're going to have more of those types of performances than maybe we have in the past."
So far this season, there have been five 400-yard, zero interception individual performances through the first two weeks. That is only one behind the record for an entire season (six in 2010 and 2012).

In Week 2, there were three such performances, the most in a single week in NFL history.
"The league that we're in," says NFL Network analyst and Pro Football Hall of Fame running back MARSHALL FAULK, "it's not only quarterback driven, it's quarterback thirsty."
Overall, there have been six individual 400-yard passing performances. That is not only the most for the first two weeks of a season but also the most for any two-week span in league history.
"In the pass-happy league that we live in, we're going to see a lot of 400-yard games," says NFL Network analyst and former fullback HEATH EVANS. "It's going to become commonplace."
